It's scientifically classified as a fruit. A cucumber and avocado are also classified as fruits.

I just searched google, it says it is technically a berry, therefore a fruit. But in cooking, it's used as a vegetable.
Same goes with cucumbers.

Haha, that's a nice piece of information. I never knew they were considered berries. To be honest, I hate tomatoes. XD

Back last year didn't some fancy scientists say that sliced tomatos can cause cancer?
I always thought the tomato was a vegetable...because it looks like a vegetable..
